I’m so sorry I haven’t written in a while. With finals and summer approaching it has been very busy. The underclassmen Great Adventure Trip was this past Wednesday, and I had a blast! I’m not a big roller coaster person, but I still went on some. (Still haven’t built up the confidence to ride El Toro) It was hot, but my friends and I still made the best of it. We all had so much fun screaming and laughing on the rides. I also made some new friends.
I can’t believe that my freshman year is coming to an end. It has been both memorable and fun. I made so many new friends, too. I love all my teachers. They are all very talented and take the time to help you one on one. As soon as I stepped into Union Catholic, I knew this was the school for me. Everyone is so nice and is willing to help you. We are all one big family here. Union Catholic made me feel comfortable and I fit in right away. I loved my freshman year and I will never forget it. Sorry I haven’t written in a while, but with Easter break coming I’ve been so busy! Track has also kept me busy, too. This past Saturday, I went to see the spring play with my family. At first I wasn’t sure I wanted to go, but after I saw the preview I had to bring my family to see it. I never knew that UC had so many talented people. The Drowsy Chaperone was an amazing play! The talent was unbelievable, even the singing was spectacular! Ella, the Drowsy Chaperone, Maeve (Janet), and Karyn (Trix) all had amazing sing voices. My favorite character was Aldolpho. Jonathan played him perfectly. The rest of the cast was great, too. My family and I had a wonderful time at the show. After seeing the spring play, I realize how much time and dedication goes into making a great performance like The Drowsy Chaperone. Well that’s all for now. I’ll write back soon and congratulations to U.C. PAC for putting on a great performance and I hope that everyone has a great Easter break!

Mr. U.C

Hi everyone it’s Allison again. This past Tuesday was my very first Mr. U.C. Pageant. I loved it! I went with my friends and we had a wonderful time. There were twelve guys who showcased their talents and knowledge. My friends and I shared tons of laughs, too. The opening act was my favorite and I absolutely loved the dance they put on – “Man I feel like a Woman” (the song made it). I loved to see the seniors all dressed up in their tuxedos being escorted by the ladies. I thought it was a very nice touch. The final two were Mark and Danny. Both were my favorite and very, very talented. Mark created his own song on stage and Danny did standup comedy. In the end, Danny won. His act was so funny I was almost crying because I was laughing so hard. The Student Council worked very hard organizing Mr. U.C. and the end product was awesome. I loved it so much and I can’t wait till next year’s Mr. U.C. Well that’s it for now. I'm sorry that I haven't posted anything in a while but it has been a busy few weeks. Well the biggest thing that happened is that I made the JV baseball team. I have made so many new friends! It's great to have the upperclassmen leadership and have the opportunity to learn new things from them. The coaching staff is also great. Our head coach is Mr. Becht and Mr. Cowan is his assistant. Both are excellent coaches and I am looking forward to have a great season with them. The coaches are great, my teammates are great and I am ready for the start of the season, which is on April 1st. I'm so excited! We have a great team, although we have only played one scrimmage game so far, I am confident that we will be ready for the beginning of the season and to have an excellent year. Well that's all for now, talk to you soon.

Union Catholic Forensics Competition

Hi everyone its Allison again. This past Saturday, Union Catholic hosted the last Forensics Competition of the year. For those who don’t know what forensics is, it is public speaking. Forensic is so much fun; the coaches are wonderful and really help you on our speaking. There are tons of categories you can choose to participate in, too. I compete in the reading category or Oral Interpretation. The completion was hard this time because I was in varsity. Union Catholic did great though. We received 3rd place overall and had many other wins. Annie placed fourth in her category, we had three duo teams make it into the finals and place 6th, 4th, and 3rd, and also Katy placed first in Declamation. Union Catholic also has some forensics competing in Nationals, which will be held in Washington D.C.! Union Catholic has a great Forensics team and I love going to the meets and practice. Well that’s it for now and congratulations to everyone who placed and competed in Forensics!

Busy Week

Hi everyone, it’s Allison again. It’s been such a busy week! This whole week I had track and I have to say…I LOVE it! It’s so much fun! I didn’t know what to expect at first, but now I know that it is tons of fun. The coaches are great and very motivating. I’ve met some new friends too from being on the track team. I like hanging out with them when we do our stretches and workouts. We share tons of laughs, too! Track is a lot of fun, but it’s a lot of work. Each day I push myself a little further. Some days we had to run inside the school because of the weather. I never knew how big the school was until I ran through the halls!
Friday was also the Class of 2015 Lock-In. It was a lot of fun. I remember my Freshman Lock-In. I made so many new friends and most of them are in my homeroom. The Class of 2015 seems really excited to come to Union Catholic. (That’s what I like to hear!) I’m really excited for track on Monday! It’s my first time going out for track and I’m soo excited! By the look of it on Friday, there were a ton of people trying out for spring sports. Good Luck to everyone who tried out! J My class is doing this awesome project in World Studies where we have to pick something from the middle Ages, such as weapons, clothing, or art, and make a museum exhibit. I think it’s such a cool idea! I’m going to do my exhibit on Medieval Illuminated Manuscripts. I love projects like this where I can learn about significant events and still have fun! The teachers at Union Catholic defiantly find fun and creative ways to make their classes fun and interesting. I’m a freshman this year at UC, and so far I love it. I enjoy playing volleyball and running track (Spring Track tryouts are already March 4th! I’m so excited.) I love to cook and spend time with family and friends. I’m already involved in some U.C. clubs such as SMAC and Forensics. There have also been tons of UC activities, such as, the Welcome Back Dance, Semi- formal, and Freshman Field Day. I’ve enjoyed them all so much. I’ve made so many new friends and I love all my teachers. I favorite class so far is probably World Studies. I have Mrs. Leegan and she always finds creative ways to make the class fun and interesting. I think the most challenging class for me is biology. I do find it interesting but also a challenge. Well, guys, I have to go! Being a freshman and in Honors and Accelerated programs I have learned that it has been a lot of hard work and a lot of fun. I also participate in the Young Politicians Club, Irish Vikings Club, Environmental Club and the school's baseball program. It is hard to put into words how much fun that I have had Union Catholic during my freshman year. I love Union Catholic for many reasons. One reason why I love Union Catholic so much is that it is like one big family. It is full of very nice and generous students and teachers. The other students are always willing to help direct you to a class or answer any sort of questions that you may have. The teachers will always help you succeed in life and in school. They are dedicated to all of their students and will do anything to help. Ever since I came here for Freshman for a day in eighth grade I have felt very comfortable and knew that this was the right school for me. Entering High School can be exciting and a little scary, but by going to the acceptance dance, lock-in and Freshman BBQ I was able to meet some new friends. Being an active part of the UC activities such as the clubs, sports, and dances and honor roll help me experience it all. I am very proud to be a part of the Union Catholic community. I do not regret my decision to applying and being admitted to this amazing, diverse, and unique school. I have absolutely loved my time here! And I know for sure, that I am not the only one who feels that way.

Hi Guys, it's Deirdre again! I'm sorry that I haven't blogged in a while. There's been so much going on, both in UC and outside of it, and it's pretty hectic. A big thing that's happening right now is spring sports. Some of the sports that you can do here are baseball, softball, track, lacrosse, and golf. I play on the JV softball team, and it's really cool. I love softball, and it's exciting to have our warm ups and some of our practices on the new turf field! Since my last post, I've also had the chance to meet the Governor of New Jersey during Catholic Schools Week. The dioceses of our state chose to send a couple of students from each diocese to the State House to welcome our new Governor. My brother Matt, a senior at UC, and I were chosen to represent the Archdiocese of Newark. I was ecstatic that I was picked, and Governor Christie was really nice. He even showed us his office. I was glad that I was able to go.

It's almost the end of the third marking period, so we've been getting a lot of work and tests. We had our second marking period honors breakfast in February, and I made it again. I can't believe that it's March already! It feels like just yesterday was September, and I was getting ready to go to UC! Everything's moving so fast, and before we know it, it will be summer!

Well, I have to go do my homework. Bye everyone! I promise I'll write again really soon!

Hi again!

Hi, it's Deirdre again. I can't believe how close to winter it's getting! I was so happy when I saw it snowing the other day! You can tell that everyone else at UC is as excited as I am. On Friday, we had our annual Christmas semi-formal. It was so great! A lot of kids came, and some brought friends from other schools. The music was really good, and basically every one was dancing. The food was nice too. The dance was in the gym, and dinner was in the cafeteria. Both were decorated so nicely that you could barely recognize them. My friends and I were really impressed, and we had such an awesome time! Another thing that everyone is starting is winter sports. I'm taking a break for a season, but I know a lot of kids who are doing a bunch of different sports. Some are doing basketball, and others are doing track and field. I also know kids who are doing cheerleading or swimming. It's really exciting, and I know that everyone is going to have an extremely successful season!

happy thanksgiving!

I can't beleive that we are already back from our Thanksgiving break! The year is going so fast, and before we know it, Christmas will be here! There is so much going on at UC. Our report cards came out a week or two ago, so this week those of us who got on honor roll will get to go to the honor roll breakfast. Another thing is that student council recently had a food drive. All of the homerooms were to bring in food for a basket. Our homeroom gave so much food that we filled the bucket they gave us to the brim! Basically, the only thing all the freshmen can think about is the Christmas semi-formal. It's on this coming Friday, and I can barely wait! All of my friends are making plans and asking if people are going and what their dresses look like. I think that the semi- formal is going to be a night none of me and the other freshmen are going to forget!

Hi everyone!

Hey, Guys, it's Deirdre! I'm a freshman this year at UC, and so far I am loving it! There are so many fun things to do here, and the teachers are really nice, too. A few awsome things about UC is our freshman field day that we had towards the start of the year. What it was all the freshman homerooms competing against each other. For example, my home room went against my friend's home room in volleyball. It was so much fun, and it was also a chance to get to know our classmates a little better. Best of all, my home room won the overall award, which was really cool. When they called our name, we were jumping up and down and couldn't believe it!! Another really cool thing was pep rally. At the end of the day, we all gathered into the gym. All the varsity teams were introduced, and then the gymnastic team and the cheer leading squad did some really cool routines and flips for us. After that, some kids from the soccer teams played soccer tennis, and then the different classes played volleyball. It was all really awsome, and we were all excited for our fall sports. Well, guys, I have to go! I'll talk to you soon!!!

Baseball

Varsity baseball has been so awesome so far. I absolutely love it. The coaches are great, the kids are great, and we really have a lot of talent this year. With our 11 seniors, 1 junior, 1 sophomore, and 1 freshmen(which is me) we have a lot of experience and leadership on our team. This year we are 4-4 and we are doing really well! Also this weekend we won our first county game against a very tough Governor Livingston team. And we are just getting closer and closer as a team and we are really starting to produce. It is looking great and we still have a lot of games to be played. The sad part about this season is that tons of our games have been rained out! But still has been really really fun! I love this season it has been tons and tons of fun!!!!

Baseball

Hello everybody! It's Dave again, here to give you a nice recap of what has been going on in my life at Union Catholic. So much has happened since the last time I had blogged.
First, I'm going to give you guys a recap of how my freshman basketball season ended up. Our team ended up 11-9. We had a really great and fun season. I enjoyed this season a lot because it was both fun and successful. It was fun because we all were friends and we joked around with each other a lot, creating tons of hilarious moments. It was successful because we walked away from the season as better players and with a winning record. I couldn't have asked for anything more.
Currently, baseball season has started for me! I am very proud to announce that I have made the varsity team. I was so excited when our coaches told me this! I thought I was going to like go crazy! Otherwise, we have had 7 scrimmages up to this date and are 6-1 in these scrimmages. We look really good this year! I am currently, hitting second in the lineup and playing third base. This is my first year of having third base being my primary position, but I really have gotten to love third base and i already feel comfortable at it. The way I look at it is that, as long as I play I could care less where our coaches put me. So, our team looks very good and I can't wait for a great season.
Also, yesterday, which was March 27th, was the last day of the third marking period and all the grades are in! This year has gone so fast that I feel like the basketball season, that finished 1 month ago, just finished yesterday. There is only one marking period to go and i can't believe it! Also, we just had our Lock-In about a week or so ago. This is when accepted registered students come to UC yet again and enjoy a night full of activities, sports, and friendly conversations. This is a chance for us students to meet the incoming freshman and to welcome them into our school. Also, this is a chance for the incoming freshman to get accustomed to the school and meet people that are also going to UC next year and ultimately to make new friends. This event was a huge success and fun for everyone!
In conclusion, this year has been amazing and fun filled! I really have loved it so much! Again, don't hesitate to e-mail me at djs421@aol.com if you have any questions about anything here at UC. I will be sure to get the answer for you as soon as possible. I will write again soon! See you then!

WInter Season

hey, everyone, it's McKenna, sorry i haven't gotten to write guys in a long time, its just Freshman year is a lot of fun, but a lot of work as well. Last week was probably my most nerve racking week of, my whole my Freshman year! MIDTERMS!! I mean yes, they were a little challening, but thats what makes us smarter. They were a little difficult, however some were a little easier than others. I will give you a tip, make sure you STUDY! I know thats what everyone says, but its true! Well as Dave has said, our Freshman year is half way over, and it has been a blast! I really don't want move up! Haha, I know that sounds crazy, but being a Freshman is really fun, you are expericeing new classes, new surroundings, and of course a new people. I am currently playing basketball for Uc. Although, we are not the best team in the league, we surely do play with a lot of heart, and talent. We really do have a lot of fun, and are really improving in our skills. The winter season, really has been roller coaster, between the semi formal, and dancing all night, till midterms and basketball. I am really enjoying myself here at Union Catholic and I am sure that any other person would say the samething. Now we are getting ready for the next up coming class, as they get ready to make their big decision on high school, we are hoping that everyone that got accepted to Uc comes here, and really enjoys it. On Saturday night, it is the Class of 13's Acceptance Dance, I remember when I went to that last year, I had such a blast and made so many friends that have become so much clsoer with, through the year. As spring grows closer, that means the year is ending, and Freshman year is coming to a close. Anyway, my times running out to make the best out o Freshman year, hope to hear from you soon, bye:)

Half way through!!!!

Hi, this is Dave once again, here to give you an update on what has been going on at Union Catholic and how I feel about the school year being half way over.
By far, these last two marking periods have been the best I have had in all of my school years. We have experienced and learned so many things!!! On December 5, 2008 we had our annual Christmas Semi-Formal!! It was a blast, filled with tons of dancing, food, and memorable times with our friends. Also, after the Thanksgiving Break, started our winter sports season. Personally I am involved in basketball and I am on the Freshman basketball team! We are having a great year and we are 6-5. We are lead by a very intelligent and hard-working coach, and we have a great bunch of kids with tons of talent. Overall, our season so far has been tons and tons of fun. Also in the winter season there is winter track and swimming and both of those programs are having successful seasons also. As the end of the marking period ended we all turned our attention to studying for mid-terms. The teachers really helped us during this time of real hardcore studying by telling us what to focus on and what is important to know for the test. They really made it easier for us! That is what I really love about this school! The teachers are really committed to their jobs, they make learning easy, and they make sure that everyone understands what they are learning. For me, mid-terms were a success! Even though they covered a lot of material they I still found them to be easier than what I expected.
School has been so great in these first two marking periods and I am proud to say that I have done very well. So I hope to keep my grades where they are and study hard for the final half of school.

I really love Union Catholic! It is so much fun! Its great because we get to socialize and hang out with our friends while still learning tons and tons of new things. I don't know about you, but I believe that going to Union Catholic is getting the best of both worlds when it comes to going to school!

Pep Rally

Hey guys! Whats up? Its Dave again. On October 21 at Union Catholic we had our first pep rally for our fall sports teams. It all started when we were all called down to the gym. On my way to the gym, myself and all the freshman at Union Catholic, were very excited because this was our first pep rally in high school and we really anticipated it being a whole lot of fun. Also for me, this was my first pep rally ever coming from a public school in Edison. So I also was a little anxious not knowing what happens at a pep rally and what it would be like.

It turned out that the pep rally was a whole lot of fun! In the beginning, we arrived gym permeated with loud music and talking kids. I then went up the stairs to the second level and found a seat around all of my friends. Then there was a speech and the varsity sports teams came in one team at a time until all were in. Each team received tons and tons of cheers. I can just imagine the whole school cheering for me. It must feel amazingly good! Anyways, after all the sports team came into the gym we gave another cheer and the gymnastics team then took the floor. These girls were absolutely amazing! They were doing everything from back handsprings to 2 and a half forward flips. Also these girls performed in front of everyone so I give them a lot of props. After this, the mats were torn up from the floor and the volleyball nets were put up and the battle between classes took place. My class, the freshman class, played the Juniors first. Simultaneously, the Seniors played the Sophomores. Unfortunately our Freshman team lost and the Sophomores lost too. So, it ended up with the Juniors and Seniors in the finals. After a hard fought battle the Seniors won and were ready to take on the teachers. With the Seniors looking tough and determined they took on the teachers in the finals. The finals were both evenly matched and very intense. After two games the teachers ended up winning and everyone was shocked.

There then was a little more music and more talking. After about three minutes, everyone was dismissed to their lockers and the pep rally, sadly was over. This pep rally was a whole lot of fun. And it just joined the very long and extensive list of the many positive things about UC. I really love UC and I think all of my friends do too. Its such a great school!

Freshman for a Day

Hi! This is Dave Schanz again and I would just to better explain the Fresman For a Day Program here at Union Catholic.

The first thing you must do is make an appointment to come for freshman for a day. Once you make this appointment you are to arrive on the day that you have chosen and you will be assigned to a current freshman at Union Catholic to basically follow around, ask questions to, and to talk to throughout the day. Already I have hosted a freshman for a day and it was a whole lot of fun. I made it my liberty to make this wonderful eighth grader feel at home and welcomed at Union Catholic. I did this by introducing him to all of my friends and all of my teachers so by the end of the day my freshman had made a whole lot of new friends and hopefully had a fun time. Also, this whole program is very great for eighth graders because it makes them understand what the school is like, how it works, and basically what the classes are like. Personally, when i came to Union Catholic for freshman for a day i really loved it for many reasons. One reason was that everyone was so welcoming and fun, which is so true about everyone at UC. Also, I really liked the program because it just gave me an insight on how the high school is on a regular day of school. Lastly I met a bunch of teachers and people so even though I had been in Union Catholic for only 5 hours I already felt a part of the community which is ideal if you want to enjoy your years in highschool.

Before I go I would just like to encourage all of you eighth graders that are interested in Union Catholic to take part of this program and become a Freshman for a Day. Because this will do two things. It will help you make a decesion on which highschool you would like to go to next year and you will have a really fun packed day meeting new people and making all types of new friends. If any of you have any questions about Union Catholic just feel free to send a email to me at Djs421@aol.com and I will try to get back to you as soon as possible. Talk to you guys soon!

Freshman Field Day

Hi everyone its McKenna! Last Friday, The Student Council put together fun filled day for the Freshman! Each homeroom, went against each other in different activities. For instance, my homeroom 205, went against homeroom 208 in ultimate Frisbee! It was SO much fun, everyone had a blast. The best part was to seeing everyone making up cheers, hand shakes, making posters, picking out shirts, and putting on face paint, to show their spirit! Speaking of spirit, you could win two awards, the Spirit award, or the overall, Champion trophy. However my homeroom, unfortunately lost, but we were still great sports, and had so much fun facing off all the other homerooms! So many kids, lost their voices from just screaming all day! This was another great way to meet, everyone and see all their different talents. Some kids were very creative, with their cheers, and stunts they did. Some of my friends were doing cartwheels, some were doing pyramids with their whole group, and others were taking the smallest kid in the group and carrying him around in the air. It was really enjoyable to watch. However, there was also a lot of competition! Our Freshman, class seems to be very athletic, and it really made it a lot tougher to win. Overall, everyone had a great time! This will definitly be the talk of the grade, for a long time. I know that this day will be a memory none of us freshman, will forget!

UC Sports

Hi its Dave Schanz and I would just like to give you an insight about all the sports programs at Union Catholic. First of all, the sports I play are baseball and basketball. Even though I have not had tryouts for either of these sports but I already can tell that they both have very good programs due to their success over the years and just the basic organiztion of everything. When I say programs I mean the coaches, assisstant coaches, and overall teams. Currently, I am on the fall baseball team for UC which is just a team and a league that was made so that people like me could get recognized and eventually get better at baseball. I find this to very important to me because when i make mistakes I can build off them and learn from them. The good part about the relaxed and fun fall ball team is that when these mistakes happen they don't matter as much as they would in the important regular season that occurs in the spring. But don't get this team wrong, even though these mistakes might not mean as much and even though the league is mosty for fun everyone still tries their hardest and it is still bery competitive baseball. Also the baseball program has a summer legion team which is also both fun and competitive. For my other sport basketball they also have a lot of activities and ways to get better both during the summer and so far this school year. In the summer I was kindly asked to go to a basketball camp in Pennsylvania which was a whole lot of fun because I got to meet new people and play tons and tons of basketball. Also, some basketball players are having conditioning practice which is a lot of running that essentially in the end gets you ready and in shape for the basketball season. All in all, even though I didn't touch on all of them, sports at UC are very competitive, fun, and always determined to win. This is why all of our sports teams are so successful. So if you like sports and want to be on a good and competitive team I encourage you to come to UC and join in with our sports excellence. You will never regret it! I know i haven't!

UC Clubs

Hi! Its Dave Schanz again. Today was a very interesting and fun day. The best part of the day was last period. This is because last period we left our classes and went down first to the auditorium and then the cafeteria to see all of the clubs that are available at UC. I was surprised to find that there were over twenty clubs that anyone and everyone could join. The best part is that, since there are so many clubs, everyone can find the club that is just right for them. Uc has clubs for all of your likings, from basic clubslike Student Council to very fun clubs like the Step Club and the Ski Club. Also all these clubs give you a great opportunity to be involved in the exciting UC Community. Personally, i joined five clubs. The five clubs I have joined are the Irish Vikings, SMAC, Service Club, Flag Football Club, and the Environmental Club. The best part about Union Catholic is that, every few weeks, we have a club period built into our daily schedule. This is very great because during that club period we go to the room where our club is being held and we have meetings about what is going on in that club and what we are going to be doing for the club. For instance, Wednesday, October 22, we have our first club period for 33 minutes right after homeroom. I would then choose which club I wanted to go to and then right after homeroom I would report to that club. Then after the club period I would go through the rest of the six periods I have that day, they will just be a little bit shortened. I really like the whole concept of clubs and a club period and I look forward to all the fun and excitement I will experience with my clubs for the next four years at Union Catholic. I can't wait!

My First Month at Union Catholic

Hi everyone, I am McKenna for all of you that do not know me. As you know, I am freshmen at Union Catholic, and already I feel like I have been in Union Catholic for years! Everyone is so , open and welcoming. I could have never pictured myself anywhere else. I am so happy I chose to go here, actually I have a little story behind my decision. My brother is a senior at Union Catholic and his name is Connor, so of course he was one of my main reasons of going here, but I decided to go to the open house, and just reaffirm my decision. After my tour around the school, and all the other exciting things were done, it was time to go. As I got into my car and my mom turned on the radio, the song "Home" by Chris Daughertry, came on. I know this might sound a little odd, but I took it as a sign, that this would now be my second home, in the next four chapters of my life! So far, I do not regret it for one minute. If you are having any trouble with making decisions for your high school, I recommended that you take time to visit each school and just see if you can picture yourself there, but i think the most important thing for you to do is pray to St. Anthony, who is know for helping people find their lost belongings, or help making the right decision. Speaking of praying, at Union Catholic, we definitely base or lives around God. We pray every time we enter each class and we are encouraged by Sr. Percylee, the principal, "to be all God calls us to be". God is a huge part of my life and He always will be.
Now, back to my first month, last Friday was our first dance! We all just danced the night away! Everyone was really hot, but that didn't stop anyone from having a good time. I know so many kids from our freshmen class that came to have a great night with all their friends, and had a ball! I for sure did!
Friends are for sure a huge part of my life. I actually had to leave my best friend since I was three, when i choose to go to UC. We have been together for all our lives till now . She went to Bishop George Ahr and of course I went to Union Catholic. It is very hard for us, but still we communicate each day by writing letters to each other, then using the phone and raising the bill since, we would talk for hours. Haha. However we both new that each of the schools we choose were for the best, and we still would be best friends for life. Anyway, at Union Catholic, I have almost made friends with everyone in my grade! We have grown so close in the last month, and are really becoming part of the UC family. Especially being freshmen, its a little difficult, but really all the rumors you hear about all the upper class men picking on the new kids, and all that good stuff, really is not true! All the upper class men are very kind and helpful! I know that from having a big sister, which is a program at UC. This program is when a teacher pairs a new freshmen with an upper class men that has similar qualities and hobbies, as the freshmen. Gina , is my big sister, and she is the captain of the soccer team. I play soccer, and am on the Junior varsity squad. This is so much fun because we have an awesome team, and really enjoy playing soccer with each other! We have a great time on and off the field! WE ARE SO CLOSE!! I have enjoyed doing a fall sport because it really helped easy the anxiety of going to a high school, where I did not know anyone. I really encourage, that kids going into high school, play or do a fall activity, because you get to meet people before you go into school and you don't have to be nervous about being alone. Well I hope you had a good time reading about me and my many adventures at Union Catholic and believe me there will be many more to come! Talk to you soon!

School

Hi! My name is David Schanz and I am a Freshman at Union Catholic Regional High School. Being a freshman and Honors Student at Union Catholic Regional High School is both a whole lot of hard work and fun. UC is so much fun I get lost for words when I try to describe it. I really love Union Catholic for many reasons. I came from a public school in Edison and I find the whole transformation from public to catholic school very easy. I actually like catholic school more than I liked public school. That was mostly because UC is filled from top to bottom with very generous, helping, and nice people and teachers. The kids are very cool and they are always willing to help you with anything you need, like letting you know where a class is. Also at UC the teachers are very nice. The teachers seem to really want you as an individual to succeed and I think that teachers are very important in succeeding in not only life but also in school. They are always willing to answer what ever sort of question you have for them whether it is class related or school related. What I have found is that everyone in the school, like the faculty and the kids, are always there for you. And ever since I came to Union Catholic for Freshman for a Day in eighth grade I have always felt that same kind of vibe that you get when you feel like you are so comfortable in a place that it is almost like home. I am so very proud to be a Union Catholic Viking and I will never regret my decision to applying and being admitted into this amazing, nice, and friendly school. So far, I have absolutely loved it! And i know for sure, that I am not the only one that feels this way.
