Hi everyone it’s Allison again. I’m so sorry I haven’t written in a while. With finals and summer approaching it has been very busy. The underclassmen Great Adventure Trip was this past Wednesday, and I had a blast! I’m not a big roller coaster person, but I still went on some. (Still haven’t built up the confidence to ride El Toro) It was hot, but my friends and I still made the best of it. We all had so much fun screaming and laughing on the rides. I also made some new friends.
I can’t believe that my freshman year is coming to an end. It has been both memorable and fun. I made so many new friends, too. I love all my teachers. They are all very talented and take the time to help you one on one. As soon as I stepped into Union Catholic, I knew this was the school for me. Everyone is so nice and is willing to help you. We are all one big family here. Union Catholic made me feel comfortable and I fit in right away. I loved my freshman year and I will never forget it. Congratulations to class of 2011!

Hi guys its Allison again! Sorry I haven’t written in a while, but with Easter break coming I’ve been so busy! Track has also kept me busy, too. This past Saturday, I went to see the spring play with my family. At first I wasn’t sure I wanted to go, but after I saw the preview I had to bring my family to see it. I never knew that UC had so many talented people. The Drowsy Chaperone was an amazing play! The talent was unbelievable, even the singing was spectacular! Ella, the Drowsy Chaperone, Maeve (Janet), and Karyn (Trix) all had amazing sing voices. My favorite character was Aldolpho. Jonathan played him perfectly. The rest of the cast was great, too. My family and I had a wonderful time at the show. After seeing the spring play, I realize how much time and dedication goes into making a great performance like The Drowsy Chaperone. Well that’s all for now. I’ll write back soon and congratulations to U.C. PAC for putting on a great performance and I hope that everyone has a great Easter break!

Mr. U.C
Hi everyone it’s Allison again. This past Tuesday was my very first Mr. U.C. Pageant. I loved it! I went with my friends and we had a wonderful time. There were twelve guys who showcased their talents and knowledge. My friends and I shared tons of laughs, too. The opening act was my favorite and I absolutely loved the dance they put on – “Man I feel like a Woman” (the song made it). I loved to see the seniors all dressed up in their tuxedos being escorted by the ladies. I thought it was a very nice touch. The final two were Mark and Danny. Both were my favorite and very, very talented. Mark created his own song on stage and Danny did standup comedy. In the end, Danny won. His act was so funny I was almost crying because I was laughing so hard. The Student Council worked very hard organizing Mr. U.C. and the end product was awesome. I loved it so much and I can’t wait till next year’s Mr. U.C. Well that’s it for now. I’ll take to you soon.

Busy Few Weeks
Hey everyone its Dan again. I'm sorry that I haven't posted anything in a while but it has been a busy few weeks. Well the biggest thing that happened is that I made the JV baseball team. I have made so many new friends! It's great to have the upperclassmen leadership and have the opportunity to learn new things from them. The coaching staff is also great. Our head coach is Mr. Becht and Mr. Cowan is his assistant. Both are excellent coaches and I am looking forward to have a great season with them. The coaches are great, my teammates are great and I am ready for the start of the season, which is on April 1st. I'm so excited! We have a great team, although we have only played one scrimmage game so far, I am confident that we will be ready for the beginning of the season and to have an excellent year. Well that's all for now, talk to you soon.

Union Catholic Forensics Competition
Hi everyone its Allison again. This past Saturday, Union Catholic hosted the last Forensics Competition of the year. For those who don’t know what forensics is, it is public speaking. Forensic is so much fun; the coaches are wonderful and really help you on our speaking. There are tons of categories you can choose to participate in, too. I compete in the reading category or Oral Interpretation. The completion was hard this time because I was in varsity. Union Catholic did great though. We received 3rd place overall and had many other wins. Annie placed fourth in her category, we had three duo teams make it into the finals and place 6th, 4th, and 3rd, and also Katy placed first in Declamation. Union Catholic also has some forensics competing in Nationals, which will be held in Washington D.C.! Union Catholic has a great Forensics team and I love going to the meets and practice. Well that’s it for now and congratulations to everyone who placed and competed in Forensics!

Busy Week
Hi everyone, it’s Allison again. It’s been such a busy week! This whole week I had track and I have to say…I LOVE it! It’s so much fun! I didn’t know what to expect at first, but now I know that it is tons of fun. The coaches are great and very motivating. I’ve met some new friends too from being on the track team. I like hanging out with them when we do our stretches and workouts. We share tons of laughs, too! Track is a lot of fun, but it’s a lot of work. Each day I push myself a little further. Some days we had to run inside the school because of the weather. I never knew how big the school was until I ran through the halls!
Friday was also the Class of 2015 Lock-In. It was a lot of fun. I remember my Freshman Lock-In. I made so many new friends and most of them are in my homeroom. The Class of 2015 seems really excited to come to Union Catholic. (That’s what I like to hear!) Well that’s it for now, talk to you soon!

Track/World Studies
Hey everyone it’s Allison again. I’m really excited for track on Monday! It’s my first time going out for track and I’m soo excited! By the look of it on Friday, there were a ton of people trying out for spring sports. Good Luck to everyone who tried out! J My class is doing this awesome project in World Studies where we have to pick something from the middle Ages, such as weapons, clothing, or art, and make a museum exhibit. I think it’s such a cool idea! I’m going to do my exhibit on Medieval Illuminated Manuscripts. I love projects like this where I can learn about significant events and still have fun! The teachers at Union Catholic defiantly find fun and creative ways to make their classes fun and interesting. Well, that’s all for now, and good luck to all those who tried out for sports!

Course selection
Hi everyone it's Allison! As a freshman, I loved the idea that I could pick my courses for next year. In middle school I didn't have that option and I think its so cool that I can pick the courses that I like and would like to be in.
I hear that the freshman Lock In is coming up. I remember when I was at my Freshman Lock In. It was so much fun! I met so many new people, and most of them are in my classes. The Lock In had so many fun games and ice breakers that no one felt left out. Most of my friends are people I met during the lock in. Well that's all for now. Talk to you soon!!

Meet Allison
Hi everyone, I’m Allison! I’m a freshman this year at UC, and so far I love it. I enjoy playing volleyball and running track (Spring Track tryouts are already March 4th! I’m so excited.) I love to cook and spend time with family and friends. I’m already involved in some U.C. clubs such as SMAC and Forensics. There have also been tons of UC activities, such as, the Welcome Back Dance, Semi- formal, and Freshman Field Day. I’ve enjoyed them all so much. I’ve made so many new friends and I love all my teachers. I favorite class so far is probably World Studies. I have Mrs. Leegan and she always finds creative ways to make the class fun and interesting. I think the most challenging class for me is biology. I do find it interesting but also a challenge. Well, guys, I have to go! I'll talk to you soon!!!

Allison
Hello, my name is Daniel Sheldon and I am a freshman at Union Catholic Regional High School. Being a freshman and in Honors and Accelerated programs I have learned that it has been a lot of hard work and a lot of fun. I also participate in the Young Politicians Club, Irish Vikings Club, Environmental Club and the school's baseball program. It is hard to put into words how much fun that I have had Union Catholic during my freshman year. I love Union Catholic for many reasons. One reason why I love Union Catholic so much is that it is like one big family. It is full of very nice and generous students and teachers. The other students are always willing to help direct you to a class or answer any sort of questions that you may have. The teachers will always help you succeed in life and in school. They are dedicated to all of their students and will do anything to help. Ever since I came here for Freshman for a day in eighth grade I have felt very comfortable and knew that this was the right school for me. Entering High School can be exciting and a little scary, but by going to the acceptance dance, lock-in and Freshman BBQ I was able to meet some new friends. Being an active part of the UC activities such as the clubs, sports, and dances and honor roll help me experience it all. I am very proud to be a part of the Union Catholic community. I do not regret my decision to applying and being admitted to this amazing, diverse, and unique school. I have absolutely loved my time here! And I know for sure, that I am not the only one who feels that way.
