Hi again!

Hi, it's Deirdre again. I can't believe how close to winter it's getting! I was so happy when I saw it snowing the other day! You can tell that everyone else at UC is as excited as I am. On Friday, we had our annual Christmas semi-formal. It was so great! A lot of kids came, and some brought friends from other schools. The music was really good, and basically every one was dancing. The food was nice too. The dance was in the gym, and dinner was in the cafeteria. Both were decorated so nicely that you could barely recognize them. My friends and I were really impressed, and we had such an awesome time! Another thing that everyone is starting is winter sports. I'm taking a break for a season, but I know a lot of kids who are doing a bunch of different sports. Some are doing basketball, and others are doing track and field. I also know kids who are doing cheerleading or swimming. It's really exciting, and I know that everyone is going to have an extremely successful season!

happy thanksgiving!

I can't beleive that we are already back from our Thanksgiving break! The year is going so fast, and before we know it, Christmas will be here! There is so much going on at UC. Our report cards came out a week or two ago, so this week those of us who got on honor roll will get to go to the honor roll breakfast. Another thing is that student council recently had a food drive. All of the homerooms were to bring in food for a basket. Our homeroom gave so much food that we filled the bucket they gave us to the brim! Basically, the only thing all the freshmen can think about is the Christmas semi-formal. It's on this coming Friday, and I can barely wait! All of my friends are making plans and asking if people are going and what their dresses look like. I think that the semi- formal is going to be a night none of me and the other freshmen are going to forget!

Hi everyone!

Hey, Guys, it's Deirdre! I'm a freshman this year at UC, and so far I am loving it! There are so many fun things to do here, and the teachers are really nice, too. A few awsome things about UC is our freshman field day that we had towards the start of the year. What it was all the freshman homerooms competing against each other. For example, my home room went against my friend's home room in volleyball. It was so much fun, and it was also a chance to get to know our classmates a little better. Best of all, my home room won the overall award, which was really cool. When they called our name, we were jumping up and down and couldn't believe it!! Another really cool thing was pep rally. At the end of the day, we all gathered into the gym. All the varsity teams were introduced, and then the gymnastic team and the cheer leading squad did some really cool routines and flips for us. After that, some kids from the soccer teams played soccer tennis, and then the different classes played volleyball. It was all really awsome, and we were all excited for our fall sports. Well, guys, I have to go! I'll talk to you soon!!!

Baseball

Varsity baseball has been so awesome so far. I absolutely love it. The coaches are great, the kids are great, and we really have a lot of talent this year. With our 11 seniors, 1 junior, 1 sophomore, and 1 freshmen(which is me) we have a lot of experience and leadership on our team. This year we are 4-4 and we are doing really well! Also this weekend we won our first county game against a very tough Governor Livingston team. And we are just getting closer and closer as a team and we are really starting to produce. It is looking great and we still have a lot of games to be played. The sad part about this season is that tons of our games have been rained out! But still has been really really fun! I love this season it has been tons and tons of fun!!!!

Baseball

Hello everybody! It's Dave again, here to give you a nice recap of what has been going on in my life at Union Catholic. So much has happened since the last time I had blogged.
First, I'm going to give you guys a recap of how my freshman basketball season ended up. Our team ended up 11-9. We had a really great and fun season. I enjoyed this season a lot because it was both fun and successful. It was fun because we all were friends and we joked around with each other a lot, creating tons of hilarious moments. It was successful because we walked away from the season as better players and with a winning record. I couldn't have asked for anything more.
Currently, baseball season has started for me! I am very proud to announce that I have made the varsity team. I was so excited when our coaches told me this! I thought I was going to like go crazy! Otherwise, we have had 7 scrimmages up to this date and are 6-1 in these scrimmages. We look really good this year! I am currently, hitting second in the lineup and playing third base. This is my first year of having third base being my primary position, but I really have gotten to love third base and i already feel comfortable at it. The way I look at it is that, as long as I play I could care less where our coaches put me. So, our team looks very good and I can't wait for a great season.
Also, yesterday, which was March 27th, was the last day of the third marking period and all the grades are in! This year has gone so fast that I feel like the basketball season, that finished 1 month ago, just finished yesterday. There is only one marking period to go and i can't believe it! Also, we just had our Lock-In about a week or so ago. This is when accepted registered students come to UC yet again and enjoy a night full of activities, sports, and friendly conversations. This is a chance for us students to meet the incoming freshman and to welcome them into our school. Also, this is a chance for the incoming freshman to get accustomed to the school and meet people that are also going to UC next year and ultimately to make new friends. This event was a huge success and fun for everyone!
In conclusion, this year has been amazing and fun filled! I really have loved it so much! Again, don't hesitate to e-mail me at djs421@aol.com if you have any questions about anything here at UC. I will be sure to get the answer for you as soon as possible. I will write again soon! See you then!

WInter Season

hey, everyone, it's McKenna, sorry i haven't gotten to write guys in a long time, its just Freshman year is a lot of fun, but a lot of work as well. Last week was probably my most nerve racking week of, my whole my Freshman year! MIDTERMS!! I mean yes, they were a little challening, but thats what makes us smarter. They were a little difficult, however some were a little easier than others. I will give you a tip, make sure you STUDY! I know thats what everyone says, but its true! Well as Dave has said, our Freshman year is half way over, and it has been a blast! I really don't want move up! Haha, I know that sounds crazy, but being a Freshman is really fun, you are expericeing new classes, new surroundings, and of course a new people. I am currently playing basketball for Uc. Although, we are not the best team in the league, we surely do play with a lot of heart, and talent. We really do have a lot of fun, and are really improving in our skills. The winter season, really has been roller coaster, between the semi formal, and dancing all night, till midterms and basketball. I am really enjoying myself here at Union Catholic and I am sure that any other person would say the samething. Now we are getting ready for the next up coming class, as they get ready to make their big decision on high school, we are hoping that everyone that got accepted to Uc comes here, and really enjoys it. On Saturday night, it is the Class of 13's Acceptance Dance, I remember when I went to that last year, I had such a blast and made so many friends that have become so much clsoer with, through the year. As spring grows closer, that means the year is ending, and Freshman year is coming to a close. Anyway, my times running out to make the best out o Freshman year, hope to hear from you soon, bye:)

Half way through!!!!

Hi, this is Dave once again, here to give you an update on what has been going on at Union Catholic and how I feel about the school year being half way over.
By far, these last two marking periods have been the best I have had in all of my school years. We have experienced and learned so many things!!! On December 5, 2008 we had our annual Christmas Semi-Formal!! It was a blast, filled with tons of dancing, food, and memorable times with our friends. Also, after the Thanksgiving Break, started our winter sports season. Personally I am involved in basketball and I am on the Freshman basketball team! We are having a great year and we are 6-5. We are lead by a very intelligent and hard-working coach, and we have a great bunch of kids with tons of talent. Overall, our season so far has been tons and tons of fun. Also in the winter season there is winter track and swimming and both of those programs are having successful seasons also. As the end of the marking period ended we all turned our attention to studying for mid-terms. The teachers really helped us during this time of real hardcore studying by telling us what to focus on and what is important to know for the test. They really made it easier for us! That is what I really love about this school! The teachers are really committed to their jobs, they make learning easy, and they make sure that everyone understands what they are learning. For me, mid-terms were a success! Even though they covered a lot of material they I still found them to be easier than what I expected.
School has been so great in these first two marking periods and I am proud to say that I have done very well. So I hope to keep my grades where they are and study hard for the final half of school.

I really love Union Catholic! It is so much fun! Its great because we get to socialize and hang out with our friends while still learning tons and tons of new things. I don't know about you, but I believe that going to Union Catholic is getting the best of both worlds when it comes to going to school!
