UC Sports

Hi its Dave Schanz and I would just like to give you an insight about all the sports programs at Union Catholic. First of all, the sports I play are baseball and basketball. Even though I have not had tryouts for either of these sports but I already can tell that they both have very good programs due to their success over the years and just the basic organiztion of everything. When I say programs I mean the coaches, assisstant coaches, and overall teams. Currently, I am on the fall baseball team for UC which is just a team and a league that was made so that people like me could get recognized and eventually get better at baseball. I find this to very important to me because when i make mistakes I can build off them and learn from them. The good part about the relaxed and fun fall ball team is that when these mistakes happen they don't matter as much as they would in the important regular season that occurs in the spring. But don't get this team wrong, even though these mistakes might not mean as much and even though the league is mosty for fun everyone still tries their hardest and it is still bery competitive baseball. Also the baseball program has a summer legion team which is also both fun and competitive. For my other sport basketball they also have a lot of activities and ways to get better both during the summer and so far this school year. In the summer I was kindly asked to go to a basketball camp in Pennsylvania which was a whole lot of fun because I got to meet new people and play tons and tons of basketball. Also, some basketball players are having conditioning practice which is a lot of running that essentially in the end gets you ready and in shape for the basketball season. All in all, even though I didn't touch on all of them, sports at UC are very competitive, fun, and always determined to win. This is why all of our sports teams are so successful. So if you like sports and want to be on a good and competitive team I encourage you to come to UC and join in with our sports excellence. You will never regret it! I know i haven't!
